South Shore Academy was inspected by Ofsted on 6th and 7th May 2015. As you are aware, the school became an Academy on December 1st 2013 joining the Bright Futures Educational Trust. During that time, there have been some significant changes particularly at Leadership level and the school is now led by Ms Jane Bailey who took up the post in June 2014.
There have also been a number of environmental improvements more recently. Our site has been made more secure with additional fencing and comprehensive CCTV coverage further enhancing our safeguarding capabilities.
We are extremely pleased that the report has recognised the need for some of the changes and that the Academy is now in a position and set to make further significant improvements.
The Bright Futures Education Trust, the Principal, Governing Body and all of the staff at the school remain committed to raising the attainment and progress of all our young people and we hope to demonstrate even more positive GCSE outcomes in our Year 11 results this year showing a significant Increase in numbers of students gaining 5 A*- C. We are also proud to be part of the recently launched Blackpool Challenge initiative.
