Expectations

At South Shore Academy we have the highest expectations of our students to enable and empower them to leave the academy as responsible, mature and excellent candidates for sixth form, college, apprenticeships, jobs and university. We believe in consistency around the academy and equality for all students; this means that all students are expected to follow the behaviour policy so that we can focus on progress in lessons.

We also believe that every person in the academy should feel valued, respected and safe at all times. Our behaviour policy ensures that all students and staff have a safe and positive work environment.

We do recognise that each student is an individual and circumstances may cause challenges for some students, in each case we consider the situation individually and always seek to support students with meaningful intervention. We rely on communication with parents/carers to help us to understand each student as an individual and enable us to put the appropriate support in place. However, we do not accept excuses for our students and expect them to strive to improve themselves throughout their time at South Shore Academy.
