Pop Idol 2017
Back to article list

13th June 2017

South Shore Academy were delighted to host the Pop Idol competition this year for Blackpool Music Service and we were able to witness some amazing performances from a range of students, primary and secondary, from all over Blackpool.

The competition, judged by presenters from Radio Wave, was as hot as ever and we were delighted this year to do really well with our two performers.  Ian Dunn-Waters (year 7) gave an excellent performance and showed how far he has come in his time in year 7.  It was Ellie Footman (year 11) that stole the show however, winning 1st Place for her performance of ‘Writing’s On The Wall’.  We are incredibly proud of Ellie and wish her well in the next step of her career, wherever it may take her.
