South Shore Academy, part of Bright Futures Educational Trust, is set to launch an appeal to track down former students, following its conversion to academy earlier this year.
The academy is on a mission to find out where its former students and ‘Blackpool stars’ are now in a bid to bring them all together at a celebratory event later in the year. The campaign forms part of the academy’s drive to change the perception of education in Blackpool.
Former students have gone onto careers in teaching, studying for a PhD and at top universities across the country.
Chris Powell, Principal at South Shore Academy said: “We want former students to get in touch with us with their memories and stories of their time at the academy when it was formerly Palatine Sports College, or any names that the school has been previously known as.”
“As part of our mission to change the face of education in Blackpool, we really want to build momentum and bring everyone back to where their education began. It’s a great opportunity to celebrate achievements.
“We would love to know where you all are now and what you’ve gone on to do since you left, whether it’s dancing in the Tower ballroom, travelling the world or becoming the CEO of a global business, we want to hear your stories!”
