South Shore Academy is celebrating progress across a range of subjects in this year’s GCSE’s.
46% of the academy’s students have achieved a grade 4 or higher in English and Maths, representing a 10% progression on last year.
The arts have proved particularly successful, meanwhile, with 93% of students gaining A*-C in Art and 89% in Drama. 59% of pupils achieved the same in Chemistry – 29% more than in 2016.
The results are the culmination of a hugely successful year for South Shore Academy, which has seen high praise from Ofsted and the removal of its former “Special Measures” status.
Neil Reynolds, Vice Principal at South Shore, comments: “We are so proud of all our students today and would like to congratulate them on all their hard work. These results clearly demonstrate how much our school is improving, just as Ofsted reported. We are all delighted to see everyone get the results they deserve.”
