The intent of History at South Shore Academy is to develop the cognitive and analytical skills required for students to orientate themselves, historically, within a changing world. We want to equip students with the skills needed to interpret the increasingly complex and conflicting streams of media narratives they will be presented with in the present and future. We want them to be able to ask perceptive questions, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop their own perspective and judgement. We want to develop a love of the subject that promotes continued study in KS4, Further Education and beyond.

It is our intention to support the learning of all abilities through effective differentiation and challenge. It is also our intention to support students who may be socially disadvantaged through providing access to our resources, for example, our topic booklets and revision resources for KS4.
