This year, to celebrate British Science Week 2020 (9th-13th March) the South Shore Academy Science Faculty will be simulating the International Space Station
The Science corridor is going to be converted to the ‘SSA Space Station’ and our teachers will be promoted to astronauts.
KS3 classes will the spending the week learning about exploring the universe around planet Earth and how we can go further. What is the best method to launch into space? What will they need to survive on the space station with limited resources? They will also be looking into and debating whether the Moon landing was real or fake.
We hope this simulation encourages an interest in science and helps everyone to appreciate the work science has done to improve our knowledge of the Universe beyond Earth.
