South Shore in the News

Due to the Success of last year’s Annual Tea Dance at South Shore Academy celebrating 100 years since the end of World War 1 we decided that it was important that we did something similar and this year we celebrated it as a Christmas Tea Dance.

We invited 18 different Rest Homes in the Blackpool Central, South and St Annes area to come along to the Academy for an Afternoon of Fun.  This included Refreshments served by Staff and Students, Singers from Bluebird Entertainment, Bingo which was organised by the Students and a Tombola which was delivered by the P.T.F.A.

The Aim of the Tea Dance was to support our Local Community with an event that the residents may not have the privilege of attending due to many different factors and to also support the integration of our students working with Senior Citizens and Care Homes and what benefits this can have for both.

All the Residents, Care Staff, Students and School Staff had a fabulous time and were very thankful for the event.
